Church at All Saints, St. Ives where the day started off with bird watching and listening to Simon and the bell ringers (from 8 to 80) rang before service. A somewhat higher church service than I'm used to but a wonderfully uplifting form of worship all the same. Lovely old church and very welcoming congregation with at least 3 families I'd met the day before on the gardens tour. I thought I'd be able to head over to Wisbech to spend some time with Alan and family; however it was not to be.
For a number of reasons, not the least of which was that the World Cup England Portugal match was on at a crucial time, I did not move along on Sunday and was due to head off on the Monday. Simon and Karen graciously offered me dinner again and I stayed for the last night in my cozy little B & B in St. Ives.
I have been trying to set up my trips to Rotterdam and Finland; however, had not heard from some of my online friends. Also, I have some confusion around getting information from the Dutch Stena Lines to go to Holland. There does not seem to be anywhere I can plan the Rotterdam trip by bus or train from either Norwich or Oxford to London or from London to Harwich - they only give me the ferry side of things. I think I will need some more input from my Dutch friend. More thumbnails ...
