Gilly's garden

I spent the better part of the day taking shots of family stuff Gilly has (cigarette case presented by the Master Baker's Association in 1906 and a chair on the back of which is a plaque which says "Baptist Sunday Schools Mill Street Bedford Presented to Mr. Roff Our superintendent for 34 years on his retirement from office 16th May 1878").
I also went around the garden with Gill and has some interesting stonework including what is known as a staddle or straddle stone (these are mushroom-shaped stones used to raise the floor of barns, granaries etc. above ground level, to prevent vermin gaining access to stored grain and fodder). It is very appealing in various shades of whites, mauves and pinks. The flowers are just about at their prime at this point and I took many shots. A friend came over for tea and an extended chat. Very well traveled and we all three had lots of notes to compare.
