This morning I still felt very dizzy and like I was on a boat and standing up in the shower was real challenge! We had breakfast basically as late as possible and we used up the last of our Internet and finalised our bags in the morning as our airport transfer and checkout time was 12pm. We checked out and met a taxi that said he was tempo tours but as he was a driver and not a guide we had a little trouble handing over the voucher and confirming that we had already paid before we got in as his English was basically non existent, but we got there!

At the airport we had to go through two lots of security and passport control and then we tried to spend as much of our leftover money as possible. We didn't have much and it would have been pointless to change it back to Aussie dollars so Elysia got the last presents she needed for family and I stocked up on duty free chocolate. Once I was down to my last few dollars we bought water to keep us going and some snacks and then we went and found our gate.

Our first flight was from Athens to Dubai and it was just over 4 hours so I watched movies and tv for this whole flight because in both time zones it was earlier than 10pm so if I stayed awake now I would hopefully sleep on the later flights. Emirates service was really good again, we had yummy snacks and meals I watched quite a few new release movies. When we arrived in Dubai unfortunately we had a four hour wait and we wanted to keep our water so we found a seat just outside the security check where we could use the Internet and drink before we found our gate.

The next flight was technically all the way to Brisbane but there was a hidden 1 hour stop in Indonesia. I was pretty tired by this point though and so both flights are kind of blended into one. I know I only had really brief sleeps and again I watched lots of movies including My Big Fat Greek wedding as I wanted to compare fiction to the real thing. The food was good again even if the meals seemed a bit close together as we were flying in a direction that meant we kept having to put the clocks forward.

When we arrived in Brisbane it was midnight about 40 hours after we had left and I was so keen to get our bags as quickly as possible so that we could see our waiting families. We did get stopped by customs who wanted to see our wooden items but we didn't lose anything which was great. Erica, Dave and Cliff were waiting for us in the arrivals hall and when we got all organised it was so lovely to sit and talk to Ez for like 4 hours and give her all her presents. Elysia was staying in Brisbane so then Ez and I had to catch a taxi to the domestic terminal and then she kept going to her uni home.

On the Brisbane to Melbourne flight I was zonked and slept literally the whole flight. I even dozed off again between the 'cabin crew prepare for landing' and the landing and so it scared me when the wheels touched down. In Melbourne I was so glad to be surrounded by English speaking Australian accented people and it was a normal time of day so I was able to call the family for a chat without having to use wifi! I wasn't really in the mood (plus I was broke) for shopping and so I headed to the gate to wait for my last plane to Devonport. It was a nice quick flight and then I was home and hugging my parents! Giving out all the presents and displaying everything I had bought myself was awesome fun, especially the things I had posted home that I hadn't seen for a couple of months. I then forced myself to stay awake until 8pm before I crashed. Now to plan the next adventure :)
