Just wrote a lengthy blog that was lost, and I'm running out of time. We've been to Versailles (2 days ago), to the Louvre (way, WAY too crowded), the Musee de l'Orangerie (wonderful), and Clignancourt flea market for Inez (super). We pack up tonight and vacate our flat by 9:30 am tomorrow, though we can leave our luggage until 2:45, when we've scheduled a taxi to pick us up for the airport. Tremendously fun day at Versailles, but entirely in the garden; the state apartments are horribly crowded. The Louvre's pyramid is huge and echo-y and confusing, don't get it. L'Orangerie a dream. Getting tired of quiche, but it works for quick meals. To NYC tomorrow. Perhaps can recapture there some of what I wrote...
