Starring
Fluffy, Zac, 'Bella, Stripe, Toto, and Rex
Fluffy is alone, wandering the people-filled streets of Zhongdian. She is silent as she walks down the sidewalk. Fluffy continues and reaches an intersection. It begins to rain a bit, but she decides to wait for the light to change.
FLUFFY: (maybe if I bark at the light it will change faster) C'MON, I HAVEN'T GOT ALL DAY. GEEZ. (bark bark bark bark)
The light changes
01 FLUFFY: Waiting to Cross
. She continues down the street, back towards her home, but she spots her little boy and girl neighbors so decides to jay-walk across the street. The little boy and girl try to call her over to them.FLUFFY: DO THEY THINK I'M NUTS? I'M NOT FALLING FOR THAT TRICK AGAIN. LAST TIME THEY PUT A DRESS ON ME AND MADE ME DANCE LIKE A PUPPET.
She dodges the neighbors and heads home to her little restaurant, with three metal steps leading up to a small room filled with small tables and stools.
One hour later...
Downtown, Fluffy and Zac, her best friend, saunter along the streets with their little feet, dodging people and cars as they go.
ZAC: HERE'S MY SHRUB! HOLD ON FLUFFY I GOTTA MARK THE SPOT.
FLUFFY: AGAIN? THE LAST ONE IS STILL FRESH.
02 FLUFFY: Naptime
ZAC: IT'LL ONLY BE A SEC.
FLUFFY: I'M GOING BACK TO OUR RESTAURANT FOR A NAP.
ZAC: YOU JUST TOOK A NAP. (scratching the grass with his feet then rolling playfully on his back, fully contented)
FLUFFY: (looking back at Zac) I KNOW, BUT I'M TIRED. I'LL MEET YOU BACK AT THE RESTAURANT.
Meanwhile, around the corner, the pesky little neighborhood boy is chasing 'Bella, and the neighborhood girl is watching, laughing, holding a small dress. 'Bella dodges the boy who almost runs into a tree. Then she runs out into the street and hides under a truck.
'BELLA: I'M NOT GOING TO LET YOU CATCH ME THIS TIME.
The boy reaches under the truck and grabs her.
03 ZAC: Finally joins Fluffy for a nap
'BELLA: PLEASE, PLEASE NOT THE DRESS! I KNOW WHAT YOU DID TO FLUFFY. NOOOOOOO!
Further down the street, Stripe looks majestically around his block, admiring the work being done, like a good foreman. Throughout the street, which is part of old town Zhongdian, people are building new buildings in the old style. Soon the entire old city will be rebuilt as a new old city.
STRIPE: I WONDER HOW 'BELLA'S DOING? I REALLY DIG HER. MAYBE I'LL STOP BY LATER THIS EVENING. FOR NOW, I GOTTA TO KEEP THESE PEOPLE IN LINE (BARK BARK).
Up in the mountains surrounding Zhongdian are Toto and Rex. Toto is a young black sheep dog and Rex is a mean old mastiff. A few strangers approach Rex' home...
REX: BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK...
As the strangers approach too close, Rex stops looking mean and curles his tail between his legs, but accidentally pees himself
04 'BELLA: You Can't Catch Me...
.REX: BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK...
Toto lives in the same village. He's learning how to guard the village, but he sees his uncle Rex and doesn't want to be like him. He prefers getting cuddled in his owner's arms at night. But he realizes that he won't be small and cute for long.
TOTO: (thinking...Maybe I can run away with the wolves...no wait, I'll head to the big city. I hear the dogs there are fun to play with, although I've been told to watch out for the kids.)
At night, Toto sneaks out of the house and heads down the mountain towards Zhongdian.
Next Episode: Toto meets Zac, Fluffy, and 'Bella. Toto falls in love with 'Bella. Stripe is jealous and plots revenge...
