Here's to all of you living six miles south of Cape Cod. Here's to the long winter nights. Here's to the long summer days. Here's to those moments you will never forget. Here's to late night at the Ritz, mornings at the Art Cliff, and afternoons looking out across the Atlantic Ocean. Here's to Jam Nights and sharing music. Here's to the rare moths and the Piping Plover and the terns and the other critters out there.
I salute you all.
The time has come to leave ye faire islande of Martha's Vineyard. She will be a part of me forever.

The plan... No real plan. Get rid of stuff. Pack a backpack. Leave island. Keep open mind.
The backpack... NOLS 7000 cu in pack camera (digital SLR) minidisc recorder with AT822 Stereo mic Stove and cook kit tent sleeping bag and ground mat flour, sugar, spices, baiking powder, dehydrated onions and peppers, powdered eggs, etc. medicine and first aid kit some clothes a repair kit, with duck tape. a headset (for Skype) water bottles, water purification system, sunscreen (Kurt Vonnegut sez: wear your sunscreen), planisphere, phrasebooks, journal, knife, deodorant, floss, toilet paper (in case you're interested)...
The ticket... a one-way flight to Hong Kong leaving April 25.
