The day after the night before....

Finally the last day of the conference had arrived. As suspected there were a lot of people wandering around a little the worse for wear, which made me chuckle somewhat. Quite a few people wandered past the stand, for last minute work-related chats or to continue discussions that had started over dinner. It was definitely one of those mornings that pleasantly ambled by. It was also Dan's birthday today (Happy birthday, Dan!), which meant cake and another excuse to head out to dinner and have a few bevvies. But before dinner the conference had to end and we started packing away at around 3pm. It would have been sooner but Ged thought it a good idea to schedule a meeting at our booth at 2pm so I couldn't put stuff away whilst that was going on. In fact, in protest I left the centre and went and did my laundry! We ended up all cleared out and packed up by about 4:30pm and so we bade our final farewells to those people we were not going to see again. Dan and I left and arranged to meet up with Ged at the Pig & Whistle for dinner at 7pm. We did try and get to the post office to have a parcel of mine couriered home, but sadly it had shut when we got there. I dropped off Dan back to his hotel so he could back and went back and did likewise - always nice to get it out of the way so it doesn't need doing in the morning! We all met up again a bit later and headed off to the pub for dinner. We found a seat hidden out back where it was really cold - good move there then - and ordered our last fish and pigtail fries. Niiiice. Ged, who had already been drinking by the time we got there decided to continue as he had started and carried on, even I indulged in a Black Passion cocktail, which was particularly good and quite potent. The guys ended up on a whisky tasting mission and this continued until we left and headed back to the hotel. At the hotel they started on something else and we played a bit of cards by the log fire. An interesting way to spend the evening! We finally retired back to my suite to continue with the chit-chat at about midnight - how come this always happens when I need to leave early?? Still, means you get a short entry today!
