Just getting worse....
Entry 17 of 18 | show all | print this entry |
Oh my god. Really. We took off from Auckland in the evening, with my throat still hurting. I'd bought some sweets to suck, and had some pills to ease my chest, but that barely made a difference once we were in flight.
Whilst I know you don't all want to hear about my flying troubles, it at least allows me to add the final lines to my map of where I am travelling!!!
Anyway, the short of it is that I ended up needing oxygen on this flight to even breathe. About 3 hours in to my 11hr45min flight I came over very light-headed. I was having great difficulty breathing and called a steward. They brought me my very own oxygen tank and left me with that until I felt better. Oxygen is great stuff, but it made me feel very sick before I felt better. I slept well after that, and was fine until we started the descent. Lost all my hearing on this occasion and developed a rather unpleasant sniffle.
When I landed in Los Angeles I looked a right state, particularly with my sunglasses on. I was really not looking forward to reboarding, and in fact had been advised to stay in LA and see a doctor. But really I just wanted to go home by now...
