My last day in beautiful Sydney!

And so my last day in Sydney. I'm sad whilst writing this for a number of reasons - not least because this is a truly beautiful city and I am sad to see friends leaving again.
This morning, with lie-ins being allowed saw me get up at about 10:30, but a lot of faffing around meant I didn't leave the hotel until about an hour later. My escort and I went to get ice cream (guava and mango this time) on the way to check him out of his hotel, thinking it would be easier for him to store stuff at mine until he left. Once we got back we headed back out for a trip around the harbour. We got our tickets and then sat in a nice little cafe by the water eating muffins until the boat was in.
It was another scorching day, and I foolishly didn't remember to put any sunscream on. We all know therefore what happened. I got burnt again. But only down the side of me that was exposed on the boat. Damnit!! The boat trip was great - it was an hour long and we went all around the harbour, getting variously wet and burnt! Saw some huge houses with their own private beaches and jetties, and got some more nice photos. Hope you are all keeping lots of time free to see them!
We returned from our boat trip and went back to the hotel. Sadly it was time for my escort to catch his flight back to the nicer of the antipodean islands. I think I must be getting older, or just soppier, because the whole saying goodbye thing is just getting harder. Ach, I blame the sun! So the taxi drove off into the sunset and i was left all alone to finish my last day. rather than stay being miserable in my hotel for too long, I forced myself out and walked over to the SkyTower to use my ticket which they didn't stamp the first time round. It was beautiful up there today, the clear skies meant I could see the full coast, the Blue Mountains and the airport. I watched a flight take off at around the time I knew my friend was leaving. Flying away is so much more distant and final.
But enough of the sentimental schmuck!!! I wandered around town and back to the harbour. It was getting a little late so I headed back to the hotel. I thought I would order room service and pack to save me rushing around in the morning. So that is where I am now. I had an all-day breakfast for dinner, a delicious fruit smoothie, and have fully packed.
It remains again for me to thank those who made Sydney special - it's becoming a habit. And to tell my friends how much I have missed them.
Until the next time, farewell and take care!
