mood: relaxed
Well here i am, soaking up the sun. Mykonos is truly beautiful, although a little crazy!!!
So far i have noticed that everyone in Greece is very relaxed and laid back - generally shops open at 9 or 10am and close at about 2pm, then re-open at about 5 and trade till 10 or 11pm. Laws are relaxed, as are the police. everything tends to be done slowly. Especially here on the islands, everyone tends to kick back, have a couple of drinks, head down the beach, take their clothes off and laze around in the sun all day. The first day that we got here as soon as we got put into our accomodation we were heading straight for the beach. Paradise beach especially has a really relaxed atmosphere, with tunes pumping out from the bars, beds and couches and deckchairs spread at different intervals along the high side, with loungers and thatched style umbrellas lined up closer to the sea
Our accomodation is about 10euro a night (about $17aus - very cheap for Europe!) but is not the flashiest thing - it looks like a humansize dog kennel. its actually a permanant tent, each have 2 beds and a side table. But really - all we need is somewhere to sleep at night - your not staying in mykonos to hang out in your room!!!
Last night was the opening night of the Paradise club - they had been promoting it like mad. When you get off the ferry at any port, you are instantly inundated with people pushing flyers and waving pictures of their accomodation and bars at you, and these guys were one of them. we also saw them in town a couple of times, and everywhere you go there are posters advertising the night. Apparently they were expecting about 1200 people there, i dont think that many actually came, but we got special privleges because of the tour - free drinks, guestlist entry etc. The club has a swimming pool and looks right over the beach, you can even go dance on the beach if you really want to! Although drinks are very expensive - about 11 - 12aus for a breezer, 8aus for a beer!!!
i am having trouble finding somewhere to upload my photos as alot of internet places wont allow you to. but as soon as i can i will post them!!!
thats all for now, i think i can hear the beach calling me. hope its not too cold back home!!

Paradise
. Pictures do not do this place justice. Although its about 5km from the actual town, they have everything that you would need right on the beach, so there is no need to be heading into town to get dinner or supplies.
