Hello! My name's Heidi.  2 years ago I was planning an around the world trip, saving like mad and started a journal here.  To make a long story short, I had fallen ill with an auto-immune disorder known as Lyme's Disease (from a tick bite) and ended up being bedridden for a year (that was 2005)(Not the best year).  In 2006, I succesfully opened a massage business, continued my massage education, (200 hrs training,) and began nutrition school, (Institute of Integrative Nutrition in NYC).
All things considered, it was not possible for me to travel until now, especially since strength in the health realm has to be top notch to travel.  Now, 2007!!!  I'm going to Peru from Jan. 29-Feb.24, currently am investigating vegetalismo, (studying under a Peruvian shaman).
In 2005, something profound happened to me in the course of healing from my illness.  Of note, in 2000, I also had a back injury where I was unable to sit for two years.  (My health is great now.)  Being ill is weird and healing is even stranger.  I will say, illness was a wonderful vehicle to purify my intentions and desires.  Now, what does all this have to do with travel?
Well, the real question around travel is not so much "where?" but "what am I seeking?"  To let my intentions be know, I really want the Universe to make me an instrument of peace.
This is my intention in going to Peru.  I will do my best to keep all updated.
In love and light and service,
Heidi
