It's 10am and already its so hot out another 100 degree day i think. We are going to have a look at the Alamo http://www.thealamo.org/
We walk back down to the river walk and through a hotel with lots of water falls as we walk up the steps we see a massive American flag attached to two fire trucks they must have had a ceremony of there own here this morning to honour all the firefighters.
We have a look round the Alamo which is tiny so it doesn't take very long,so we decide to go back to the riverwalk to go shopping.
By midday we are roasting and stop to get an ice cream for lee and a shake for me.
We walk around some more then head back to are lovely cold hotel room and drop our stuff of because lee wants to go to the San Antonio spurs shop at the AT&T stadium and its to far to walk so we have to take the car.
As we near the stadium there are police and queues of cars which means they must be having some event on and we can't get in so instead we fill up the car ($3.50 a gallon)
We are going out for dinner so we have a quick siesta.
Dinner tonight is at http://www.texasdebrazil.com/ where they bring you all kinds of meat to your table like chicken, prime rib, fillet Mignon to name a few and they have an aerial hostess that flys up
in the air to pick your bottle of wine from the huge wall of bottles on display. We are shown to our seats and given the drinks menu we order a bottle of wine and our waiter tells us how that the round disc turned to green means bring meat and red means to stop, and to help ourselves to the salad bar which has over 50 items on it which include shrimp, salmon, sushi, veg, potato salad and a really yummy lobster bisque.Once we get our salad items lee turns over the card and waiters with meat appear from all directions on huge meat skewers which they carve on to your plate. We try almost everything and it tastes amazing,But we don't want to over do it so turn our card back over.
The waiter was telling us how the Dallas cowboys had come in to the restaurant and eaten loads of meat because they are such huge guys.He also said we should check out howl at the moon a piano bar just round the corner which sounds like fun.
We get to the bar, have our IDs checked and go upstairs and grab a couple of drinks at the bar and luckily we get a table as its quite busy.
There are two guys each playing there own piano and they also have guys playing the drums, the bass and guitar. There is alot of hairdressers in on a work night out and there are lots of requests for 80's 90's cheesy pop with a bit of rock music thrown in.We have a good laugh & leave about 11.30 and head back to the hotel and lee is all hyped up on caffeine after all his JD & cokes.
