In the end we decided we would spend the day shopping in town! The sun had finally shown itself after day's of rain and Krabi looked a lot different in the sunshine. We wandered in and out of handicrafts shops and the local shopping mall (it had a boots but not a lot else). After we had exhausted the shops we got some snacks from the 7/11 and went to a garden near the pier to sit in the sunshine. You could watch the longtail boats come in and out and the view down the river was really nice. Jack got annoyed at all the bugs trying to bite him so about 4pm we headed back to the guesthouse
In the evening, being Sunday, the weekend night market was on an we headed down there. There was lots of stuff to buy but not loads of it was that interesting - a lot of clothes and hair stuff. We have definately seen better markets with regards to stuff to buy. But the food at the market was really good and there was loads of it. The most impressive was the guy cooking Pad Thai in bulk and I could have stood and watched him for ages. As well as that we had Thai green curry, and jack had some pork satay and sweet corn. I accidentally bought some pancakes which we thought were plain but ended up being full of fake sausage and some other weird stuff. It went in the bin pretty quick. The maker also had a huge area of tables where people would sit to eat their food and it was very funny watching everyone fight over seats as it was all full. There was also a stage where people were occasionally singing but it was really out of tune!! Found this happens a lot out here. After a couple of hours at the market, Jack was full and we headed back to the guesthouse.
