Well, you'll be pleased to know we arrived safely into the capital Katmandu!! Pleased further by the fact the journey from Pokhara went without any incident. After still suffering from the aches and pains from trekking, we were keen to just take it easy and enjoy the benefits and luxuries of a city, mainly in the form Western style bars and restraints.
Kathmandu wasn't entirely what we had expected. It was bigger, busy and more polluted than we had envisioned. That said, it is a very ancient city and has some fantastic old, narrow streets to explore! The medieval architecture is interesting to check out and the fun is in just strolling around the old town
The remainder of the few days we spent in Katmandu, was used for doing some shopping for gifts! Being one of the cheapest places around to buy just about anything, we made full use of the bargains that were to be had.
We were going to continue with our adventure activities and go for the white water rafting option. After much looking around, it turned out that the best of the rivers, were not really flowing very well and the rafting would be poor. So for $60-$70 each, we thought this might not be the best thing to do. Soon the prowl for the next adventure it was!!... What could we do that would be unique and unusual to top off the trip??....
'Arrh, that's it... Lets go and see if we can spot some Rhinos, or if we are lucky a tiger!' So to Royal Chitwan National Park it was..... See next Travel pod for this.......
