Well San Fran here we are!! Woo what an amazing city.......we arrived here on Tuesday May and had a good five days to go and explore the city and check out all the cool bars! First good sign was the weather... we were pretty lucky and had some Hot Hot hot days so the Bikini was out!(Well Lou :-)!!) In addition we stayed in an amazing hostel that provided free beer and free veggie food, all for $13 a night....Good hey! One of the first things we visited was...... yeah you guessed it "The Rock" Dan wanted to pretend he was part of the movies! So on Thursday we were off to Alcatraz. It's amazing, what excitement does to a grown man pretending to be General Hummle (Ed Harris)for some reason Dan wanted to be the baddy!....mmmmmm. Anyhow it was a really good tour and seemed surreal we were there. Its hard to imagine what it must have been like being a prisoner there. We saw all the cells that housed the famous prisoners and we even got to say "Hi" to an ex-prisoner of Alcatraz. The tour itself was pretty cheap going with Blue and Gold fleet tours. It's self guided around the prison, the only downside being that we had to wear goofy headphones and look like idiots when we got our left and rights wrong!
The next few days were spent checking out the rest of this great city. There is plenty that the city has to offer. We stopped at the crooked street in he world, which features on a lot of films. Speaking of roads, the streets of San Francisco are bloody steep! This means that any walking that was to be done, meant some not so leisurely strolls, but one positive our butts are getting pretty toned! Fishermans Wharf on pier 39 was a great and hip place to visit, there are a resident colony of sea lions and these guys are amazing to just chill out watch, they seem to just laze in the sun, posing and yelling at each other. Sounds like Brits on holiday!! It has some pretty cool restaurants and bars and plenty more magic show's that Dan once again loved!

We visited The Golden gate Bridge, which was a long long walk but well worth it when we eventually got there......We did however bail out of actually walking across the bridge, another 2 miles after a 3 hour walk seemed like a crazy thing to do, especially when we could chill out overlooking the bridge with a LARGE COLD STELLA!!!!

So now were off to Viva Las Vagas! Now this is going to be interesting I'm sure, so watch this space and lets hope it doesn't break the bank!!!

Bye Bye Guys x x x x

Dreamingo'SanFran on

We did the tour of Alcatraz when we went to San Francisco and I found it really interesting. Definitely worth it- though it didn't cost that much. I can't imagine being stuck out there but the view of the city, especially at night, is amazing! But I think I'll stick with the room I booked on
