Wako Hotel whilst showing its age now would have been crème de la crème back in the 60's or 70's when it was built, the hotel let us drop our bags off as it was still early in the day when we got there and our room wasn't ready yet. Grabbing an armful of souvenirs out of his bag Morgan was on his way to the nearby post office to tackle the world of sending a package overseas without speaking a single word of Japanese that could be helpful when some may say “unfortunately” we past a large multi story building called “animate” which is basically a big shop full of the stuff we love
When we got back to the hotel around 4pm we tested out our new beds by having a nanny nap, which may have turned into a few hours of sleep. Once awake I attempted to fit all my newly acquired belongings into a box the size of my head which just wasn't going to happen, so back to the post office I went to get a new bigger box that I could fit a small cat in, or in our case a baby macaque snow monkey. After squishing everything into the box, which ended up weighing 4.5kg I went to the post office and sent it off by EMS courier for a low low coast of 88,000 yen, which is around $100AUD.... which is a hell of a lot of money and makes you realise that maybe, just maybe you shouldn't of sent those 2kg boxes home and carried them with you for the next 4 week but alas it was done and gone and my bag was that much lighter with a lot of empty space for me to fill again.
Dinner was an assortment of pre-packaged buns and rolls with weird and wonderful flavours which some people may say isn't really dinner, well tough bikkies they tasted too good for me to care. We used the ancient computer in the lobby of the hotel to get in touch with the outside world again and to let our hosts on Sado island know what time we will be arriving the next day then headed off to bed.
