Thanks to Ryanair changing our flight on us, we had a single afternoon in Liverpool.

As the home of the Beatles, Liverpool has numerous Beatles themed museums, tours and attractions all named after Beatles songs. Thankfully for us cash deprived people, there are also free museums - apparently Liverpool did exist before the Beatles as a port (perhaps you've heard of that little boat called the Titanic). There is also the Liverpool Tate, which seems to be devoted to Modern Art with the sole purpose of creating debate about what actually constitutes art rather than being interesting (examples: a square of tiles laid on the floor; and 2 fluorescent lights mounted on the wall).
And of course, there is always the waterfront, conveniently where the museums and galleries are located for sightseeing ease. We also visited Liverpool Cathedral, the largest Anglican Cathedral in the world and the only one I have seen that contains a cafe and souvenir shop inside as part of the design.

After packing all that into the space of 4 hours, we got a whole 5 hours sleep before heading to the airport, where we were surrounded by a horde of women wearing 'Angie's hen party' t shirts (please don't be on our flight, please don't be on our flight).
