Tel Aviv is a complete contrast. Only an hour by bus from Jerusalem, suddenly we could be in any western city anywhere. The city is small - the population is only 400,000 but the cafe culture is strong and the average citizen fairly wealthy. So close to the West Bank, here we are worlds apart.
Being right on the beach is also pleasant - its like Rio, admittedly without the vibe, but also without the likelihood of being stabbed.

After a few hassles with our Egyptian visa, we headed South through the red sea resort of Eilat and on to Egypt.
