If we were to live in SEA, Luang Prabang would likely be the place. The charming UNESCO World Heritage Site holds firmly to its French colonial influence while not loosing sight of its Laos heritage. The setting is idyllically situated in the mountains on a peninsula created by the Mekong River. We found a room in an old french colonial just off the main street. Our days were spent exploring the streets, Wats and Royal Palace, and our nights roaming the night market where the hill tribes sell their handmade crafts.
We recommend:
Again, Joma Bakery & Cafe
Sayo Xieng Mouane Guesthouse
Tamarind Restaurant
Visiting Royal Palace Museum - a must
