While in line at the bank in San Carlos we met Maria - painter and hotel owner. She was so nice and laid back that we were sold into staying at her place - Albergue Celentiname.
Our Irish friends tagged along and off we were to the beautiful lush island paradise.
Island time goes by very slowly and if there was a competition for sitting in a hammock and staring over the lake, our hosts, Daniel and Maria, would be the world champions.
But besides the most relaxing setting, the Solentiname islands are also home to an art colony specializing in world renown primitive style paintings.
We loved this place and will definitely return.
