20 Aug Last night just went for meal across the road to Lord of Kingsale pub raining!!!
this morning light drizzle but lifting I hope, we had another nice Irish breakfast, then drove to
Blarney Castle about an hours drive from Kinsale, the Castle in 60 acres of very nice grounds with
trees and flowers, we all walked up the spiral 100 step stair case which the steps are quite narrow
no OSH when this was built in 1447. The weather by now is perfect lots of nice warm sunshine,we
kissed the Blarney stone which they say makes you more "Eloquent" and more talkative!!! we then
waled around to Blarney House. We drove then to Charles Fort which has great views of Kinsale
harbour, which played a big part in both the Williamite war in 1690 and the Irish civil war 1922/23.
Across the harbour is also James Fort which is from the same period. We saw a bridal party
come there for pics so I took a couple. We then walked around Kinsale and then had a nice sea
food meal at Jim Edwards restaurant with the ladies having Lobster tails;,what about the cost you might ask!! nothing is too good for the girls.
