So, I left the UK in January this year for 12 months to travel round the world starting in India and finishing in Canada. However, two months into the trip and I was coming back home due to falling ill in India. I did make it to China as well and saw some amazing things but when it got to the point where I was bed ridden and starting to feel depressed I knew it was time to come home. After months of seeing different doctors and numerous tests we established that i had inherited an immune system deficiency that my dad so kindly passed down (thanks dad!). Anyway, looks like it was set off by a virus that i caught in India which I couldn’t shake off because of the immune system problem
So now my plan is to stay away from the more risky countries and stick to the westernised ones for now. I’ll be flying to New Zealand arriving in Auckland 13th October where I will be staying until the 18th when I catch the bus to Taihape in the south of the north island. Here I will be living with and working for a very nice family as an au pair on a farm in the middle of nowhere. The family seem very nice and I’m looking forward to meeting them.
Mid January I leave the family and travel to the south island to see all the beautiful things it has to offer, I plan to do some whale watching and maybe even try some surfing. I have a funny feeling that I will be crap but I got to try it even if it’s just to show off my new (and expensive) Roxy bikinis!
On 27th February I fly from Auckland to LA baby. Here I will be met by my good friends to start a road trip through California. The plan is to spend a couple of nights in LA to see the sights then travel down to San Diego for the Zoo, the beach and party
From Vancouver we will be taking a trip to see THE NORTHERN LIGHTS! How amazing is that! I’m getting lots ticked off the 'things to do before I die’ list! From Vancouver I don’t really have a plan. If I can fit it in I could go to the wolf centre to do some volunteer work but we shall see.
When I came back in March from my first attempt at the travelling I was in a bad way both physically and emotionally and I never want to experience that again. But, it was meant to be, coming back enabled me to be there for friends who were also going through bad times. I have become closer to friends and made new friendships as well as meeting the special someone I mentioned earlier. Just typical that I would meet someone before I go travelling! But, it has worked out really well as he had already planned to travel to so we are both going to be doing our thing and meet up later
Over the past few months the people I have mentioned really helped me get through a tough time and they will never know how much i appreciate it and how much I am missing and will miss them! Thank you people, you’re all very special to me and I will be thinking about you where ever I am.
Anyway, I’ll be back in May, you can’t get rid of me that easily you know! And I will be keeping in touch with you all whether you like it or not and you better write back every time!!!!!!! So, fingers crossed, second time lucky!!
