Happy Fourth of July!  Today we went to the Flamingo Visitor Center in the Everglades National Park. We went to rent a boat so we can drive in the wetlands.  My dad was the captain.  My sister and I got to steer once in a while.  Then I went fishing and I had no luck.  We only saw two crocodiles and when we were getting ready to leave we saw two more.  In the parking lot we saw a flock of vultures.  They eat rubber on cars!  Then we left and headed back to our hotel.  On the way back we saw a barred owl.  We decided we had some time to go for a walk on a trail, the Anhinga Trail.  While we were walking we spotted two 4-inch grasshoppers mating.  My mom decided to have the talk about "the birds and the bees."  Yuck!  Then we kept on walking.  Then I looked to my right and saw six big alligators! I got so scared!  We went to the very end of the trail and saw two more.  While we were looking at them one of them jerked and left.  My mom got scared so she left quick.  Then we went back to the car and saw another barred owl.  On our way back to the hotel we were enjoying the fireworks.  Then all of a sudden it started to rain really hard.  So we decided to pull over and buy some Krispy Kreme donuts and have some Mexican Food for dinner.  My dad and I had tacos al pastor and tripas.  My mom and Adela shared a burrito al pastor.  It was really good food.  When we got to our hotel we watched the fire works from our room while eating Krispy Kreme donuts.  Good Night.
