We are fast approaching the end of our time in Africa. We have made our last border crossing into country number 7 - South Africa. The process was smooth and we could finally breathe a sigh of relief as we have made it with a blank page to spare in our passports. Our first camp site in ZA was only minutes from the border situated on the Orange River. So with no activities planned we spent the day relaxing in the sun.

We could not have chosen a better place to camp for our last night with the group – a South African vineyard! Of course wine tasting was on the agenda before a BBQ dinner and we jumped at the chance. After a brief introduction we were told how to look, smell, and taste the wine. We tried red, white, rose, sparkling and a drink similar to port. With so many wines to taste and very generous measures we were all a bit merry by the time dinner was ready.  It certainly was a great introduction to wine tasting! We completed our evening with a festive theme and handed out our secret Santa gifts we had bought in a town called Springbok earlier that day.
