Friday the 13th has proven to be a day of nostalgic reminiscing so far.   My mind has been drifting like the fog outside (where did that come from? It was blue skies and sun this morning) back to places and people of the past.
When someone mentioned not to walk on the grates, here at work, I was reminded of when I was young and told not to crawl along the grate behind the couch.  But, I did anyways, and now I have a scar that looks like an 11 on my knee.  Thinking of the wise words of my parents, I was really pleased to find a letter from them waiting for me when I got home last night.  (Very appreciated, thank you!xo)  It is so nice to get real post mail on tangible paper and a personal touch.  Mom said she misses my piano and asked if I have one here to play.  What a coincidence because I had just gotten home from my first shift at a restaurant that has a piano! I think this new job will be good, the management is generous, they know I know what I'm doing, the food looks and smells delicious, and everyone that works there has been very friendly so far.  Also, there's live jazz music every night or something.  Now about those piano playing practice times...
Speaking of music, I'm wearing the Lucky 13 earrings that Travis made me out of guitar picks. Also, I'm wearing the Big John Bates and the Voodoo Dolls shirt that we got at the concert this past November in Saskatoon.  I've been thinking a lot about this past year.  I know that there was a Friday the 13 in October. I remember we drove into Banff from Kananaskis around dusk.  I took pictures of the scenery from the window of the back seat. I wore black and purple that day too.  About six of us ate dinner in Canemore at the Grizzly Paw.
Two years ago, right around this time, April 13th ish, I was visiting Edinburgh with Dave Moore. The sun was shining, like this morning, but it was much colder.
I don't know what this weekend in April 2007 will bring yet.
