. They told me that their job is traveling, and that on vacation they work. Sounds like an awesome existence :) I spent all night last night and all day today (besides the time i spent doing my homework) hanging out with these guys, and they are some pretty insightful people. Toby (the blonde for those of you who can see my pics) works at a hostel in the northern part of england, and i can tell he is very close with his family. alexandro, i haven?t gotten him entirely figured out, but he?s the most insightful of two, or most vocal about it. we got into an intense conversation about the poverty in latin america, and Alexandro brought up a good point. There is corruption in all governments, all presidents, but the reason that europeans and americans don?t fight against the government or notice is because the government provides us with things to get distracted with (aka nice malls, facilities, electronics, games, etc etc). Third world countries on the other hand don?t have the same recourses as we do, so the people feel it more, and as the people get more and more pushed around by the political situation they begin to unite and we see social uprisings, such as the zapatista uprisings in chiapas, or the quiche uprisings in guatemala. He then brought up the idea that there is a balance of good and bad, and the uprisings start when the dark begins to outweigh the light. but he fears that the dark is getting so strong ( in this instance represented by individualism, commercialism) that it could outweigh the light creating chaos
. I disagreed with him to a point. i don?t think it?s a balance, i think it?s a war between dark and light.. a spiritual battle. but it is the poor who fight up against it when it gets too bad because they are the ones who feel it. we have evidence of the knowledge of this war in almost every movie that has been made.. always a good guy and a bad guy with the good almost always winning. a picture of our world. really it?s a picture of God battling for us, and it?s our hope that He will win, well He has, through Christ who is coming back for us. it seems like there is a lot of this outlook on life as a balance in society of light and dark versus a war here, or at least so far in my experience. the next day we went to a taco shop in tulum called tulum taco, and the guy running the shop had a ying and yang tatttoo. it was interesting to see after our previous conversation. we also talked about many other things, but too much to get into for now. i did observe however while we ate our tacos and the kids got out of church that everyone was in uniforms just like in tijuana. it?s interesting that in such a poor country, kids are required to wear uniforms that are expensive in order to go to school. s sad really. but, it was good to see kids that went to school, because it reminded me that knowledge is power. pray for the kids in tulum, that they will all have an opporunity to get an education that will empower them. please pray for Toby and Alexandro. Toby did not agree with the whole idea of religion , but when i asked why and what he did believe in, he said he doesn?t know yet, and if he is supposed to know, then it will come to him
. i want him to know that God loves him, and i told him, but he just doesn?t know it yet. and alexandro, he grew up catholic, and believes jesus to be the highest prophet, but does not yet know him as God. I pray, and pray that you will pray with me that He will come to see that these passions he has inside, these insights, are an insight into something spiritual that God is allowing him to see. He is very deep. and pray that when we spend tomorrow together and say our goodbyes, that God will truly be there. these guys are truly special to me, and i hope they will be in the kingdom with us. i didn?t go to the ruinas or to snorkeling today because it rained, and i needed the time to just chill. but it was good. so good to just live in the moment, and have no real plans except following where the moment takes you. well, ciao for now, i?ve been on the computer way too long. besos God bless, love, michelle ps I was reading revelation 5 today, and i was wondering if anyone knew exactly what the scroll was? and the seven spirits of God.. it would be much appreciated if you knew and you could inform me!! thanks.. "and they sang a new song, saying: ?e worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God members of every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.?? rev 5:9 and 10 pps all those out there addicted to phones and text while you?re with people.. you know who you are.. stop.. leave it in the car.. it?s nice to only be with the people you?re with. save the convo for when you?re alone.
started my day in mi biblia.. psalm 91. i will make the Lord my shelter and rest in the shadow of the almighty. but, that?s not where i want to start. in my before mentioned email i mentioned a girl named bell from australia. Well, i found out last night that she is pregnant, 1 1/2 months. She is fine with it all, but from the way she talked about her bf, i don?t know how good he is for her.. and she?s traveling.. and she used to do drugs, so please pray for her, that she will stay out of harms way as she goes on her journey, and she will have the strength and ability to stay out of drugs and alcohol and all of that will make her baby sick, and that God will provide for the baby what it needs. i think she is well off because she owns a business, but i mean that He will provide the baby, and bell, with a supportive family. i?m happy for her though, it is an honor, and i know she?s treating it as such. i also came into an awesome friendship with two guys who met a few months back and have been traveling together since: Toby from England, and Alexandro from Italy
