glendalough was awesome!!!!!! its in wicklow county, near bray. we took the bus to a national park there. it had some old medieval churches, but then we walked further down these beautiful trails, and came up on some lakes. it was gorgeous outside because it was raining and all the greens in the forest were sooooo bright! it was perfect. you looked out and saw these lakes, and behind them were the wicklow mountains. you could see these little houses with their chimneys going (its been the upper 50's all day... freezing!!)and sheep and horses. then we came up on this waterfall, it wasnt very big, but the sound was awesome. we were told that the wedding scene in Braveheart was filmed there. so we were standing where mel gibson made a movie :) that was really cool. we walked around out there for hours, in the rain ;) dont worry daddy, i had your camera under my umbrella, taking tons of pictures! of course, we are still incredibly exhausted, so all the walking didnt help. on the bus ride back, i stretched across three seats and the aisle and went sound to sleep lol. we are sharing a hostel room with an australian couple, so we went back to the room and talked with them for a while. they had never heard of gumbo, okra, or even red beans! they eat this nasty nasty stuff called veggie mite. i couldnt even take the smell of it! its soo cool because we are all fascinated by each others cultures. i love talking to people about america. they think we are exactly like the americans they see on tv. they just cant imagine that i come from a farm! and everyone is so interested in our election. there is actually a big treaty trying to get passed here. its called the lisbon treaty. the eu is threatening ireland if they dont vote yes, and it sounds like the eu is trying to create an empire. yall should look it up... pretty interesting stuff. its a HUGE deal in ireland right now. it could possibly affect us if this treaty gets passed, who knows. they will vote on it thurs, so im glad we will be leaving then in case riots break out or something. theres already demonstrations and stuff out on the street. well, im going to sign off now, and go to bed so i can get ready for the flight tomorrow. the loooongg flight back! i hope you all have enjoyed reading about my adventures, and i cant wait to show everyone the pictures and videos!! there is so much more to tell about the month that we have been here....
