See where the dot is flashing on the map? thats where we're MEANT to be. Not that I had any idea even what country that was in until I just googled it - Swedan. So Im pretty sure we're in Swedan now. Hurrah. Wasnt even meaning to be. Was aiming for Norway.
The PLAN was to go from Copenhagen, change at Goteborg, then merrilly continue on our way to Oslo, Norway.
It was not to be so... Instead we're in... Im not even sure where we are... The train had a disfunction, we were delayed, missed our connection and have been told we should wait 5hrs for the next train. right.
My timetable says different, so we're going to atleast get to the right station in Goteborg and hope for the best. Either way, we'll get there at about 6.30pm rather than 4.45pm. Unless the information people are right, in which case we get to Oslo at 9.30pm. (see Mekelle. Who can be 'pod' now? ha.)
I thought Id call the ferry company to confirm our reservation for Stockholm to Helsinki, but then discovered my phone (or quite possible me) didnt save the number right, so I tried to call home to get mum or dad to find it for me, realised I didnt have the correct access number for Swedan on my phone card, had to msg dad for him to find it on the internet, got it from him in record time (ta dad!) then the payphone wouldent accept the phone card.
So I thought, 'bugger it' and went to find the internet. I was successful (finally) but it said minimum time, 90mins for 3euros. Lewis said go for it, even though we only 60mins until the train came. BUT THEN! I looked at the little ticket for the internet, and it said I could use remaining time in the future at any of their other internet cafes. woo hoo! Light at the end of the tunnel.
So now I have the phone number I need, and may just go and put it to good use.
Please note: Im not as actually bitter as I may seem. Its a bit of fun really, just to see how ridiculous things can go. Im in good company, and have many a thing to do in my trusty daypack. But I do hope my timetable is right...
Hope everyone else day is (or was in your Australia's case) going more to plan than ours.
