The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
    you hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
    in the night also my heart instructs me.

 I have set the Lord always before me;
    because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
    my flesh also dwells secure.

Psalm 16 pretty much sums up the day!  Woke up even more excited about med school than usual (which is saying something--hopefully this feeling lasts longer than my first semester :) ) and about the awesome choices I have.  What a blessing!  I have now withdrawn from all choices except UVA, UChicago, and Northwestern (at which I am waitlisted).  I'm just waiting to hear back about financial aid from the other two and will only go somewhere other than Pritzker, if it is significantly more financially attractive, which is unlikely with the awesome scholarship I have been given!

Also, one of the girls from SAS is trying to spend her summer in Ghana at the hospital we visited.  She is currently trying to fundraise, and it is just a reminder of how incredibly blessed I have been by meeting Dr. Petri and having this opportunity!  And how fortunate, that I could have done it even without financial aid from him, but what an extra bonus to have most of my expenses covered.  Forida also continues to be such a joy to work with (and the rest of the lab too).
So many days since I have been here, for a variety of reasons, I have been reminded how incredibly, incredibly blessed I am.  The complete welling of joy I feel today reminds me so much of Caleb and his indomitable enjoyment of life!
