Arrived in Taipei 7am Sunday morning ...how did I do that? it is only Sat night in NC!!! The airport is huge but also deserted..guess I picked a good time to arrive whipped though immigration....
Nova thanks for the update on the kitties... glad to know all is well.. That Pouncer is a sneak he did the same thing with the pet sitters. but they didn't catch him like you did.. got home found a little pile of pills on the floor by the couch..

So Steve and Amy were there at the Taipei airport to greet me..

. they had just arrived from China, well China to Korea to Taiwan because you can not go to Taiwan directly from China (that sticky international thing)....So we hop in the car for the drive down Taichung.... I am telling them Elaine wants pictures of feet and Tina wants pictures of toilets..... Does anyone else have a request?......
we stop at a rest stop and Amy asks me if I want to bring my camera and I said no as I am thinking this can't be an usual toilet.....
WELL I walk into the stall and there is a HOLE in the floor.. with what looks like the lower front of a toilet bowl sticking out of the ground.. I just stood there and looked at it... Finally I decided I wasn't going to use it.. Just wait until we got to their apartment. So I walked out of the stall and I notice another person coming out of one and I saw a glimpse of a regular toilet!!!! So I started opening all the stall doors until I found something I recognized ..wish I had brought my camera .but I am sure there will be plenty of chances along the way...
We got to Taichung and it strikes me as very grey...... but at night the buildings all light up and it is very colorful.. I will take some pictures so you can see this evening
Lat night Steve went to the dumpling store and got take out .We had Egg Drop soup and meat dumplings, vegetable dumplings and a large round dumpling filled with pork.. All very fresh and tasty . We dipped them in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, chili paste and ginger... Yum. I am practicing with chop sticks and am getting a bit better.
Today Amy and I are going to get a hair wash(I will take pictures Deb)and then we need to pack for Tuesday morning a car is picking us up at 4AM to take us to Taipei to catch our flight to Ho Chi Minh City
