After almost twenty four hours of travel we have made it to Greece. Our first shot of Athens

 We all managed to arrive on time and the plane left on time with out a hitch. Actually, our flight to Chicago and our flight to Munich both landed early for a change. We were all so wound up about getting here that none of us have slept yet.The only bad experience was that Beth's luggage is lost, but we have the whole world out there looking for it so we are confident it will show up tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest. It is currently  about 4 in the morning in Phoenix, and it is 3 in the afternoon here. The Hera Hotel

 We have to attend a welcome dinner tonight so we are struggling to stay awake. We are really excited to be here - the city is huge - over 3 million people and it's not very green - mostly brown and white everywhere you look. The view from our room

 There is a roof top bar that doesn't open for a few more hours - so we will have a chance to watch the sunset over the Acropolis and I will be sure to have some photos of that or you tomorrow. This is a boutique hotel - it is elegant - but everything is small - small rooms, small bar, small elevator....just small. Tomorrow we will start our first tour so I will have much more to share! I had wanted to stow away in Beth's luggage. I guess it's a good thing I didn't. Beth, I'm so sorry. WHat did I tell you? 'If you don't have it, you don't need it.' I'm certain your beautiful friends will take excellent care of your needs.

No sleep? Come on now. You guys better learn to close your eyes at night so you can enjoy the day sights!

Thank you much for the update (I love this TravelPod thing). I'm looking forward to more pics and tales and living vicariously through all of you. Thinking of you all and wishing you every great path in our adventure!!!

I am so happy to hear that you all made it there safe. I am so sorry beth that your lougage is lost I hope you find it. Cannot wait to see pictures hope you all are having a great first couple of days there. Miss you already have not stopped thinking about u!!!. OOXX TO YOU ALL!!

WOW! how fun is this...everyone has made it safe and let the adventures begin....I'm so jealous so take lots of pictures and a few of the locals fellas wouldn't hurt!
