Today we have been into Newcastle to visit the Hancock Museum and what a great place to visit . There was so much to see including the Greek , Roman, Egyptian, African eras and fossils, prehistoric animals, birds of the World , gems and crystals , different cultures from around the world , butterflies, a real mummy from Egypt in its original burial coffin. ( it looked a bit scary) . We spent over two hours in there and all of us really enjoyed it .There was a skeleton of an enormous dinosaur ,also a big fossil of a prehistoric bird that had been found at Whitby ( south of here ) in 1838 . All of these exhibits in this museum have been put there by the Newcastle University. There was also a skeleton of a Dodo which I found to be very interesting . The big screen showing the full height of Hadrians Wall was rather a shock when you seen how high it was in real life . Before we went to the Museum we went to Oliver's for my favourite Bacon Stottie ----- yum . I suggested to Nana and Granpa that we take the recipe for the Stottie Cakes back to Australia so we could have them all the time .It has been raining on and off all day today and it has been fairly cold . We are all glad we have our warm vests with us as we have used them every day except when we were in London .Thats it for today folks .
