Tuesday, and off again on towards Westport. first stop Lake Rotoiti, Nelson Lakes national park. its a beautiful lake surrounded by snow capped mountains. Its a cold crisp day and we follow a beautiful walk through the forest. We then head on through 'Bullers' Gorge, said to be one of the most scenic drives. I try my best to stay awake and appreciate it through the drizzle! We wind through the hilly roads, over narrow bridges across the river to finally arrive in Westport, a small town and out nights rest. We are recommended a walk to a lighthouse to enjoy sunset - the 30mins time stated to get there is an interesting approximation - maybe at a sprint! A little distracted by the one human we see in the town trying to sell his puppies and chat with the very few people around we make it just before sunset is complete. The light ripples in the sound glow sightly pink before we pace it back before its pitch black and we can still see something along the dark country roads and streets.
