We headed back to Mexico city today in time to meet Nina on Saturday. We had a great Double decker air con bus for the journey, with the usual great Spanish dubbed UK and Oz movies, however this time we got free drinks. However by the 3rd fizzy apple drink we were on such a high from the ridiculously high content of sugar i felt very sorry for the English couple sitting next to us having to listen to all are drivel for 5 hours! We declined the 5th fizzy drink!
The last couple of days were spent checking out the beaches, we headed East to the surf beach and another Bay, Play as Revolcadero y Marques. Managed to blag a free bus journey (part way) on one of Acapulco's special metallic airbrushed style buses with bass boomers taking up the whole of the back seats. The decoration inside appears to be the drivers choice, and i think there is a competition who can have the loudest bass. My ears were nearly bleeding, the poor old lady in front was sitting with her hands over her hears and they turned it down a bit for her on request
In the evening we stopped at the Cinema on the way back to see Harry Potter and the order of the phoenix, we managed to get the sub titled one not the dubbed Spanish version!
Tuesday we managed to blag another free bus ride, getting a bit of a challenge now, this time west to another beach, Playa Caleta. We did mean to go across to the island, but by the time we had finished lunch we only had 1 hr so set up on this beach instead, avoiding the annoying Americans from our hotel who insist on speaking to us in appalling Spanish - why would they do that?!
To finish off the day we decided to go and have another look at the divers at La Quebrada at the 7.30 show so we could see it in daylight. We were going to stand outside this time, but one of the officials waived us in for free form the top viewing box, much better view from here even if further away. We also got free drinks as some paying customers didnīt want them and stayed for 2 shows. The official showed us the scars on his arm from when he dived and broke his arm - 3 times. (Not sure how true the stories are!). The final dive 3 dived together one from the very top and 2 slightly lower either side as the middle one somersaulted, very impressive. While sitting on the wall watching my flip flop also tried a dive, but luckily a Mexican tourist or 2 retrieved it for me!
