Taxco used to be a mining town, and now is known for its silver markets. A dangerous place for 2 girls to be... The town is on a steep hill - there seems to be a theme going on! It is a maze of small alleys, small cobbled roads and markets. We managed on the first night to take an hour to do the 2 min walk to the centre by taking a few wrong turns (we did get a snack on route!) You canīt follow a map as the road suddenly turns into steep stairs in different directions, so which way to go becomes a gamble. However one thing is for sure - there will be a silver stall there. Once you have mastered the lay out of the town, the next challenge is to avoid the VW Beatles hurtling around the 2 way roads barely wide enough for one car! Well we thought we has better purchase a few items to help the tourist trade here!
