No trip to Sydney would be complete without a visit to Bondi Beach apart from anything else the locals would want to see how white Ian and Josh are after being here for five weeks!!!!! Like most days it was hot and we were amazed at the total lack of shade and how many people were openly barbequing themselves. We tried out the saltwater pool attached to the beach and then like true brats we did some rock pooling. Again there were Bluebottle jellyfish in the sea, so Josh was very reluctant to go in. We have to apologise for the amount of sea pics, Ian takes Ibis and bridges, and Liz takes the sea. We were also trying to recreate a photo taken 36years ago of Liz when she emigrated to New Zealand. Our time at Bondi was brief, mainly due to the heat.

The next day we decided to use the ferries and took a trip to Watsons Bay, where Sydney harbour meets the ocean. Another very hot day but we managed to find a good park for Josh with a good bit of shade. Josh made a friend so we stayed a little longer than planned as he is not getting to meet many kids on route. Liz took the opportunity to photograph the sea even more!

Our next day was spent travelling inland on the ferry, we had a weeks travel ticket and we got full use out of it! A lovely lazy day ensued, ending with a walk through the Royal Botanical Gardens. We caught sight of the bats hanging in the trees, they were huge and very loud. We had seen them a few days before flying at dusk towards the bridge (you know the one!) quite a sight.
