Well it has been one week... I am settled. Finally another teacher arrived yesterday, Rachel. She is from Kansas. She also would like to see as much of this country and region as possible while she is here. We are already planning a boat ride to the many small islands tomorrow. And another trip to San Jose on Sun. And Apparently, her parents own a beautiful property in the mountains of Cartago. A river runs through their yard and their house is meters from a private waterfall. I can not wait to enjoy the many other regions of this country. The beach is very nice but life is very ssllloooowwwww!
I was certainly beginning to feel a little stagnant and stir crazy. It is different traveling or living by myself. I have to drag myself to do things and then when I do them they are not as fun. So I am elated to have a traveling buddy.
I have not yet seen my school, or curriculum. I am getting a little worried considering this is my first teaching gig ever. But the one thing I have learned down here is there is always manana. The laid back mentality is kind of driving me crazy I really like being busy and doing things, having an agenda. Here not so much. I am sure I will slow down myself and find my niche soon enough but until then I think the rantings and ravings will continue... More thumbnails ...
