First stop on our Asian odyssey - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We stayed in Chinatown amidst the markets, fruit stands, crumbling building and loud constructions noises. The markets were crammed with fake everything - designer watches, sunglasses and handbags in particular. We're now the proud new owners of 10 Ringitt (about $4AUD) Gucci and Nike watches!

One of the most surprising things we discovered about KL were the polite, non-pushy hawkers, a totally different story from other places in SE Asia where they are so relentless in their pursuit of a sale! There had been a recent crackdown on copied CDs/DVDs and VCDs so we were often accosted by young guys whispering 'You want DVDs?' as we walked along.
