Even with a trip of 15 months its amazing how you can sometimes feel like you don't have enough time in a place. We had planned on spending 2 weeks in the north of Vietnam volunteering with UNESCO but a few weeks ago we figured out the whole thing was a scam. Luckily we hadn’t yet sent any money but because that plan fell through we adjusted our plans in Cambodia and Vietnam and decided to do 3 weeks in each. Even still we felt 3 weeks wasn’t enough to try and do the whole of Vietnam from Saigon to Hanoi as it’s a very long country so we decided to cross into Vietnam from the north east of Cambodia and head north, unfortunately missing out Saigon and the Mekong delta. Hopefully holidays in the future can cover that!

Our first stop then in Vietnam was Quy Nhon which was straight across from Ban Lung on the coast. We were looking forward to some beach time as our current plans don’t include much of that anywhere and we fancied a change. The weather wouldn’t play along. Misty and a little cold here unfortunately so we just spent the last two days wandering about town. It’s not a bad place but nothing spectacular which is probably why it’s missed out on most peoples trips through Vietnam as people hop from Nah Trang to Hoi An. It was nice to get a feel for a real Vietnam town sans tourists and just seeing the way people live.
