We had a great day taking the gondola ride over the rainforest (with 2stops to visit the forest and see the river, waterfalls and dams) to the lovely village of Kuranda - rather "touristy" but with lots of interesting crafts people. We then travelled back down by train on a track that is over 100 years old. Very scenic but very warm! We then flew to Darwin and arrived at the end of a rainstorm........and then It rained most of the night, making it very humid in the morning. We walked to some of the local sights but then had a welcome swim the apartments pool.
We collected our car today - our first manual gearbox in in over 2 months! & after a spot of shopping (too hot for anything but shorts here!! & so we needed another pair) we visited some of the coastal parks and the Marina - the temperature was 34 degrees all day! Phew - another dip was needed!
Going to Kakadu national park for a couple of days and then to Lichfield national park and then our final destination in Australia - the red centre, for which were e been advised to buy face nets to fit over our hats ahhhhhhhhh!! Wifi very limited and so there may be not blog updates until 10th.

We are so jealous, this looks and reads like such a fantastic trip and has cetainly made us want to get out there asap! You seem to have got the balance right between travel and relaxing which can be a challenge when thee is so much to see and do. Sure you must stillbe exhausted at times though! A truly amazing adventure so make the most of the last few weks and see you back in the village ( where, funnily enough, there is absolutely nothing happening! No change there then!) xxxx
