Well, I spoke too soon, wishful thinking no doubt but now we are both as sick as each other, hacking dry cough, headaches and just feeling crap. Dont know how we did it but after we managed to exit our room in the sewer smelling pension by leavering open our door with a screwdriver ( there was no lock or even a handle on the door) caught train, bus, plane, then 2 more trains to get to our destination in Frankfurt. When we got to the main Frankfurt train station (think central but bigger and busier) and I had to work out how to get to our hotel plus buy the tickets from one of those automatic machines I thought I've hit the wall but I only had to look across at Gary who was in some sort of "get me out of here stupor" shrinking under the weight of his backpack, I gathered my reserve and grabbed some poor young girl to help me.
We arrived at the hotel, very clean and nice but the customer service non existent. We were virtually handed our keys and told to put them in the slot when we leave and that was it, havent seen them since. They have an office downstairs but go ring the bell and its like you have accessed someones private home by mistake. And they had the hide to charge me 6 euros for wifi. We collapsed into bed and thats were we have stayed except to go get a drink and some yoghurt. We dont know where we are and don't care, but it appears to be a very Turkish neighbourhood. Funny since we leave for Turkey tomorrow. At least we know the way back to the airport.
Your all probably thinking why have they got a screwdriver. Gary carries it everywhere, he says there is always something to fix!!!
17/04/2013: I just woke up to a new man. Gary has been to the Turkish hairdresser downstairs and has had his locks shorn, military short back and sides. No one spoke English but looks good, he even found a can of burbon and coke in the supermarket. He is definitely on the mend.
