Final night in Loreto we spent with a Canadian couple,Warren and Pat who we met in a bar while watching the Superbowl finals. We spent a great evening exchanging travel stories, hillarious. Next day we headed back over to the east coast in search of more whales, unfortunately it turned really windy so we headed south to Todos Santos
Very pretty town where the famous Hotel California is, but also very touristy and expensive. Hunted all afternoon for a cheap little bungalow on the beach, does not exist. Gary thought the price was in pesos which made it reasonable but alas was in US dollars.
We finally found just by chance a surf camp, just south of Todos Santos. Our room is spacious and the place has a nice pool and camp kitchen, but also very rustic. Toilet and shower like a concrete bunker with a blanket for the door. There are lots of Canadians here and all very young, we are the oldies but they tolerate us which is nice. Gary has become a bit of a kitchen nazi though, he hates the way the young ones leave the camp kitchen, not cleaning up after themselves, same the world over!!! Last night we cleaned everything up an immediately some guys came in and said where are the plates and the knives. It was because they were not pilled up in the drainer they could not comprehend. The weather and water is warm and the beach has sand not rocks!!!! so lots of walking for me and Gary finally having a surf, although pretty crap, but at least he is in the water at last. We walk to the local village market and it is so cheap, even leaves Walmart for dead.
08/02/2013: Went into Carbo today, a beautiful town, lots more tourists here and so much wealth. The boats in the harbour were fantastic, one even had a hellicopter on the deck, apparently was rented for 1 mill pesos/day. Madonna is also supposed to be in town. Only prob is there is only one tourist ship/week now and the locals are really suffering. Most parts of Baja no bargining but here OMG they sell at rock bottom prices, but alas I cannot buy as we cannot carry. Gary did buy a little rechargeable speaker for our Ipod and the sound is so good. As you could imagine he is like a pig in mud. We partied with the Canadians and Mexicans last night and Gary is a bit fuzzy today, definitely out of practice. Huge 4 hour walk on our beach Cerritos, saw at least 20 whales about 100 mtrs from the shaw.
09/02/2013: Returned to Cabo today and took a boat cruise around the Sea of Cortez and did some snorkelling, not a lot of fish but great variety. Did not want to appear rude but not near as good as our Barrier Reef. Had all you can eat and drink for $30 each, great day.
10/02/2013: Our last day today, despite our rustic conditions we will be sad to leave, have met so many nice people, our social life has certainly stepped up a notch.

"Toilet and shower like a concrete bunker with a blanket for the door".... yeah so you won't break it and flood the place, and then even if you manage to it won't damage anything hahaha
