India, India you are many thing all round into one. It is a country of many contradictions, sometimes the most friendly people you can ever wish to meet the next someone trying to scam you. Beautiful scenery one minute, filthy and smelly the next. Spiritual, believing in Karma yet treating women as 2nd class citizens. At times could try the patient of many a saint with it's ridiculous bureaucracy.
India is a place that we had a love/hate relationship with, mostly love, great food, beautiful scenery, buzzing atmosphere, incredibly friendly people, its spirituality, people have no fear. On the down side, the constant leering by most men at Liz and Western women, staring and giggling, gobbing, women pissing and shitting on toilet floors.
Our top 5 experiences in India:
1) The trek up the mountain in Mcleod Ganj
2) Laxman Jhula - Great atmosphere, bathing in the Gangees, Bengali Baba, incredibly friendly people.
3) Jodphur - The Beautiful Blue old town, Vishnu our guesthouse owner.
4) Jain Temple in Ranakpur.
5) Diwali in Delhi - Spiritual, mad fireworks and exciting atmosphere.
