Woke up feeling much better than I should have done but with some idea that I had driven the tuktuk home, not like last time only in the harbour area, but down the main streets - not sure why anyone would let me. Apparently Dave (ex TA - injured several years ago) said my driving did give him some flash backs of his PTSD!

Normal morning routine, but keeping in mind that we are going to rough seas. I think everyone is slightly apprehensive, when several of the permeant crew came to me for sea sickness pills even I took one. Everything strapped down securely, put away to ensure nothing becomes a missile. We left. My job like always, getting the gangway on the roof and getting out the fenders - still part of my job I find strange to be doing, but more importantly I still feel unsure what to do. We left Galle and there was a lovely forward aft rocking of the ship, and very few people felt unwell. We motored in a south westerly (completely the wrong way) to get to the equator and watch the cyclone develop from a safe distance. I think everyone was pleasantly surprised at the sea conditions so far. The sun even came out to say hello to us - all rather nice. But is it the calm before the storm?
