Where I stayed
We rented a house called Bathers http://www.pacificpalmsholidays.com.au/game/realestate.nsf/BoomerangBeach/Bathers metres away from Boomernag beach. See the pics on this page. Nice 3 beroom house with 2 bathrooms and huge living/dining area, big kitchen with eveything provided and a huge balcony. North facng so you get great sunlight all day. In the evening you have the fireplace to warm the house up whilst playing board games, wqtching DVD's or istening to music all provided with the house. A nice place. Drawbacks are the cleaners (see belwo) and the tiny hot water tank. Two people barely had showers let alone a full house!
Started off a little stressfull as when we arrived at the house the cleaners hadn't been throught yet! Not happy! Spent the first 2 hours there on the phone to the agent and viewing other properties as they could get a cleaner through till the next day
Anyway, back to the location.... Boomerang beach is beautiful. 3.5 hours north of Sydney is this hidden gem. It was the middle of winter and we were hagning out in shorts and t-shirts, sunbakin and even swimming at the beach!!
I imagine in summer it is a family haven with kids about everywhere.
There are a few beaches around the area - Shelley beach, Boomernag Beach, Elizabeth Beach and 7 mile beach. All stunning beaches with fine sand to run through your toes :-)
The area lacks fine dining but has some good take aways. We went to the Recky club (a members club) with a bistro, pokies, TAB and live music. Not a bad place. They have a gold coin donation courtesy bus that picks you up and drops you home, brilliant!.
I recommend a walk up to Boomerang Point for sunset (see pics), really beautiful.
