After a 3.5 hours bus ride from Guayaquil including a flat tyre i finalkly got into Mantanita. Arrived last night and found a hostal but no hot water! After being on the boat for 4 days i wanted a hot shower... So this morning i moved and am now in a room facing the beach. I sleep to the sound of waves crashing and wake to the same!. See the pictures...
Cool little beach town, lots of Gringo´s, good surf (+/-) and plenty of bars and restaurants. Came for 2 days and stayed 5!!! That kind of place, lots of eating, drinking and surfing...
There was another roadblock for 2 days, thus one of the reason why i stayed.... what is it with me and those damned roadblocks!!!
HOT TIPS for travellers:
(1) Cheap accomodation, USD$5 gets your a privat room with bath.
(2) El Centro Del Mundo Hostal is a great location on the beach. Ask for a room at the front. A double with bath is USD$7. Honestly the best all round place i have stayed at in South America from a value for money perspective, beachfront, location to main street, everything. Brilliant
(3) Happy Dokey for the best grilled swordfish in town. And accross the road for the best calamari.
