Staying at a beautiful pousada on a hill right above the Beach de Amor, waking up to the sound of waves and the ocean out my window... About time i spoilt myslef a little!!! ;)

Want to know what it is like on a Brasilian beach? DONT read on it you want your image spoilt.....

Sitting on a beach chair trying to chill out and relax, i hear a bell in the distance, it is getting closer, i lift my head to see an ice cream vendor who asks if i want an ice cream. I think to myslef no problem that is normal and kindly decline. Then i hear music getting closer and closer till a speaker is about half a meter from my ear bursting my drum, this time a CD vendor asking if i want to buy pirate CD´s, again i decline (not kindly this time). Then i hear a whilstle being blown and getting closer, again i lift my head to find a sunscreen vendor!!! &$#@*..... yes getting frustrated now....
So i decide to do a little experiment. I took pen and papaer and wrote down how many times i was sold something..... the results? read on below...
Within 50 minutes i had 35 different vendors try to sell me something! That is one vendor every 1 minute & 40 seconds on average! Dont beleive me? See the list below:

Ice Cream X 5 ringing bells (all different vendors)
Sunscreen X 3 blowing Whilstles (all different vendors)
CD´s X 3 with blarring stereos (all different vendors)
Clothes X 3 (all different vendors)
Jewellery x 3 (all different vendors)
Sunglasses x 3 (all different vendors)
Henna Tatoo´s x 2 (all different vendors)
Fruti X 1 ringing bells
Hot Dogs
Football Jerseys
Hot Cheese sticks
Caldos (Soups)
Baby Bips
Hair bands

So..... i have i shattered your image of a relaxing day at the beach? this is no exageration!!!
But wait there is more.... this one killed me, in more ways than one....
A woman dragging a disabled child who was parapledgic along the sand to your seat, stopping before the child would run a well practiced speech on their life struggle. Complete exploitation of the child. It made me sick.

You need to get a life to live the dream
Never heard so much dribble in my life, I actually live in Pipa, and your 'story' of a day on the beach is just that, and pure fiction into the bargain.
Makes me wonder why?
Maybe you should just live the life in Blackpool or somewhere and swim with the turds, rather than invent fictional stories about some of the nicest beaches in the world, you sad person.

Re: You need to get a life to live the dream
I am sorry my entry has offended you and potentialy disrespected your home.

I wanted to answer your questions and observations:

1. Why? Unfortunately this is not fiction nor a story, it is reality. Perhaps as you are a local you are treated differently. As a tourist, this was my experience without an ounce of exageration. I wrote it is as it happened. This is the same for the rest of my blog.
2.I am not from Blackpool, nor am I from the U.K. I live in Australia, where we actually do have some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
3.My background is Portuguese, I speak it fluently.

I loved travelling your country and I loved Pipa, as my blog clearly advises. This experience was a sad one and you are correct in saying it did make me sad... on the day....
