It is however the jump off point for Jesuit ruis. The Jetsuits were around in the 17th century building missions in Bolivia, Argentina, Brasil and Paraguay. Basically priest under catholic rule converting Indians and using them for labour. In return they gave them communities to live in. They became so strong the Crown attacked. Many missions ruins are now converted to museums. I went to Jesuit ruins in Trinidad and Jesus near Encarcion. It was great to walk around the grounds and try image life there 200 years ago, until now i hadnt even heard of a jetsuit! Sad i know, watching the Mission with Robert De Nero when i get home is on the to do list....
