Sucre is the former capital of Bolivia and is now the judicial capital with La Paz as the formal capital!

After we had moved to a nicer hostel we explored what the market had to offer - mostly moisturiser and chicken!  We then dined on what was meant to be pizza and tasted like a ver sweet oversized scone in the main plaza - very pretty with as many pedgeons as trafalger square and 2 rather splended lions to boot!

In the aftenoon we visited the Museo de Arte Indigena where we wathced indigenous women pinstankingly weaving the most intricate of designs.  I was going crosseyed just watching!  The rest of the day was spent enjoying the sunshine and denteral warmth!  The following day we went to Cassa de la Libertad - old home to the university and ite of the signing of documents for the independence of Bolivia!  We learnt all about Sucre - the man - saw an incomplete (there have been 200 presidents in 18 years) collection of protraits of past presidents (including a woman in 1980) and a cabinet full of their walking sticks!  Sadly they had decided not to open the cathedral - apparantly its all a bit random!  So the rest of the day was spent tryiung to persuade a shoeshine boy not to shine my suede type shoes - I lost a pen and post card and 2 bolivianos to the cause and getting a little too overfriendly with a dog why was using me as a shelter from the fireworks associated witht he march that was going on round the square!

We were due to be leaving for Le Paz that evening and were just walking past the place we booked the tickets (on our way to get our bags and leave) when we were stopped along with some others trying the get out of Sucre!  Turns out there are more blockages in Potosi so now we can´t leave!  We didnt´want to spend another day in the beautiful but fairly unexciting Sucre so Kathryn had the presence of mind to suggest we went via Cochabamba....
