We continued down the opposite side of the coast we had come up, onto a car ferry over a river to the sea and on to Matakohe home of the Kauri Museum (Kauri are huge trees, native to New Zealand - most of which have been chopped down, their branches drop off and so they have no knots or somthing!)  Well at least we made it to the gift shop - museam was too expensive!!  Then we drove on to Aukland again, not quite as far as we had hoped to get but I did slow things up somewhat by being rather sick - don't worry mum I still don't have Malaria!

Now we are staying it a rather manky, smelly hostel with a very strange guest that likes singing (badly) and is confused as to why someone on tv has had short hair for the last 7 years...someone else has just pointed out that some people don't like change - wise words!!  At least it has free internet so i've managed to update my blog!!
